1868 Incoming folded cover franked by Austria 1864 10kr blue from Vienna and addressed to Waslui, large IASSI 25/8 pmk in blue alongside, taxed 28 bani for the distance between Jassy and Waslui, very rare and fine.
Pre- April 1st, 1869 Postal Treaty Incoming Mail to Waslui-Moldau, a town without Austrian Post-Office. The letter was only partly paid up to the Austrian post-office in Jassy. 28 bani was charged for the Romanian postage, see Heimbüchler Handbook part 2, page 340.
These pre-postal treaty partly paid foreign mail are very rare, incoming even more so than outgoing. (Image)
