1908 cover to Christchurch, franked pair 1d Universal canc complete boxed "LOOSE LETTER" h/s. B/s Christchurch C-type cds 8? JA 08 (modified from 1906-7 exbn cds). Place of origin unclear. Flap tear, otherwise good.

1940-4 WWII censored covers x 9 ex GB to NZ, all addressed to Dr Rudolf Proskauer, dental surgeon, Gisborne (or his wife). The addressees were German & their mail (even from within NZ) was intercepted & censored throughout the war. With various censor h/s on censor resealing strips & separate examiners' code letters or numbers on back. Good to fine cond.

1944 WWII air cover to NZ serviceman c/- NZ Army Base PO, London, franked 5d Swordfish canc Napier cds 9 MR 44. Address heavily crossed out (blue pencil lines). Boxed h/s "Return to sender on Air Department instructions", h/s "It is regretted that the addressee is reported as missing .... NZABPO" (& m/s "believe killed"). Further PO label on back & NZ "D.D.A.67" censor resealing strip. Still with original typed letter (from NZ airman colleague).

1964 3d COMAC Experimental Letter Franking machine installed at Christchurch CPO, 3d frank on cover, unused; also similar but on printed cover with 13 AP 64 C class cds (FDC). See PSNZ, vol VI, p428.

1970s-80s Otago pmks, fine strikes on 5 philatelic covers: Kelso (on 10c + 4c QEII lettercard), Kokonga, Macandrew Bay, Maclennan (registered), Makarora (relief cds). All long closed.

1972-3 covers x 13 to same collector address, with good to fine cancels of 12 diff Otago POs incl Hampden, Lake Ohau, Lake Waitaki, Pukeuri Junction, Luggate, Millers Flat, Ocean Grove, Sawyers Bay etc. Fine. All POs now closed.
