1967 Discovery Anniversary original artwork prepared by Victor Whiteley comprising 1) five pencil sketches on tracing paper (stamp size 113x78mm approx) of designs of the vignette portions close to those issued; 2) seven pencil or pen & ink rough sketches of canoes & indigenous peoples portions of which were incorporated into the issued ½d design; and 3) issued stamps singles & blocks and two FDCs, all the sketches and one of the FDCs autographed by the artist, a few of the sketches with minor marks or blemishes. A marvellous group of great interest to thematic collectors also.  (12 items + stamps & covers)

1967 Admiral Bligh Death Centenary original artwork prepared by Jennifer Toombs comprising 1) ten preliminary design sketches on one page (246x195mm) showing the layout & colours three with lettering & denominations in china white (tape stains affect two sketches) signed by the artist and dated "1967"; 2) Captain Bligh sketch in black ink on acetate; 3) 'Cast Adrift' sketch in black ink & pencil on paper signed by the artist dated "1967"; 4) tracing of QEII portrait in black ink on acetate with pencil trace-offs of Bligh & Lifeboat in the lower corners signed by the artist dated "1967"; and 5) 'Bligh's Tomb' sketch in black ink on acetate. Plus note on RPSofL letterhead explaining design origins signed by the artist & colour photograph of Bligh's tomb. A marvellous group of great interest to thematic collectors also.  (5 items + notes)

1972 South Pacific Commission Anniversary original artwork prepared by Jennifer Toombs for the 20c Economy value being a pencil sketch on acetate with partial denomination but no country name, signed by the artist in black pen, with a copy of a 2010 email from the artist identifying the actual people in the design, also two blocks of 4 of the issued stamp and a solo franking on 1975 airmail cover to USA, plus non-contemporary miniature painting of 'View of Adamstown from Christian's Cove' signed J Toombs '92 being the image used on the 1969 Pictorials 15c Fletcher Christian's Cave designed by her.  (sketch, painting, stamps & cover)

1982 Fruit original artwork prepared by Daphne Padden comprising 1) page (203x211mm) with rough pencil sketches coloured with watercolours of four designs with the 'open book' concept endorsed "Drawings of foliage etc to suggest engravings - realistic treatment of fruit"; 2) tracing paper (170x214mm) with detailed pencil drawings of the Lemon & Pawpaw designs; 3) separate artwork (each 200x210mm approx) in close to the issued colours for the 9c Lemon, 20c Pomegranate & 70c Pawpaw but with major design differences including the placement of the Royal cypher & denominations, and 4) finished artwork (215x131mm) closely resembling the issued stamp for the 9c Lemon except as a "20c" denomination on red background dated "1979", each item signed "D Padden", very fine. Plus issued stamps using these designs (one 9c signed "D Padden" in the margin) and a First Day Cover of the set autographed by the artist. A marvellous group chronicling the evolution of the designs and of great interest to thematic collectors also.   (11 items)

BOOKLET: 1940 4/8d black/green with single staple SG B1, complete with one marginal example each of the KGVI Pictorials ½d to 2/6d from the right of the sheets so inserted face-down, mottled interleaving & minor rust at the staple still one of the finest examples we have seen & the first we have offered for many years. KGVI Expertising Certificate (2012). One of the scarcest booklets of the KGVI period.
