NB8 var, 1943 Heroes Souvenir Sheet, Unissued design, many similarities to sheet eventually issued February 9, 1944, but with original date (December 30, 1943) at bottom and all text in green, without gum as prepared, faults include lower left corner out, creases, tears, and other defects, despite its condition an exceptionally rare item, upwards of 200,000 were printed but never issued, and any survivors were looted from the Manila post office in February, 1945, as few as 100 survive (Image)
