Tied through perfs by "Dulag, Leyte, April 26, 45" manuscript postmark and additional rings in pencil on cover front to San Francisco, with a letter from collector explaining postmark: When the Dulag, Leyte postoffice was destroyed, Lt. Paul Westenheffer had jurisdiction over the mails. He is not a collector but thought the few pieces of mail ready for dispatch of that day, should be cancelled. So this was done in pen, with added pencil rings for which a dime was used…just a handful of mail was done this way., Fine, a rare provisional postmark. Scott No. 485 Estimate $150 - 200. $0 (Image)
