Lot of 11 pre-stamp mail folded covers with very well made FORGED marks (ex-Abarca), many of them look very good and could make even the experts doubt. Notary Abarca was an employee of the province of Córdoba, and during 1960s and 1970s he had access to the provincial archives, from where he obtained original sheets without marks which he then skillfully used to make hundreds and hundreds of forged folders with varied marks. At one point he even managed to deceive Victor Kneitschel himself when he sold him a "collection" of these pieces, which later on Kneitschel used to illustrate the chapter on pre-stamp mail in his 1974 catalog. Very interesting for the specialist, market value US$20 or more each! (Image)
