Franked with 1.75M. (one stamp with defects), on back Nazi censor label, very interesting! (Image)

The cover was addressed to the German Consulate in that city, which then forwarded the mail to the sailors. With Nazi and Allied censor mark, and arrival mark for 18/AP/1945 (5 ½ months later!!), minor defects, very fine appearance, very rare! (Image)

Authorization dated 16/JA/1941 to sailor (corporal) J. Klinkmüller to leave the camp on Martín García island to Buenos Aires, carrying a suitcase with clothes and personal effects. He was granted these permits to visit his girlfried (later his wife), many of the sailors interned in camps in Argentina met people from the German community, who visited and helped them, and a good number of the sailors married Argentine women, and after being repatriated, they returned to Argentina and settled here!
