1942-50 Rates Inclusive of War Tax 2½d scarlet Tete-Beche Pair from the booklet plate ACSC 230cdb (not listed by Gibbons), characteristic poor centring, lightly mounted, Cat $12,500. One of the most oustanding & important errors of the KGVI Period, both for Australia & the British Empire. [The ACSC states "Fewer than 10 pairs are recorded". Superior to the pair in our auction of 16.5.2023 that sold for $7625. That was the first example we had offered in 44 years. This pair turned up a week after that item was lotted. It was sitting peacefully and unmarked in a basic pre-decimals collection!]

1947 Newcastle Sesquicentenary 2½d Lieutenant Shortland Imperforate Pair ACSC 242b (SG 219 variety), good even margins, unmounted, Cat $1500. Probably Australia's most embarrassing design error: the man wrongly depicted is Lieutenant John Shortland, but the father of the same name, not his son. [A similar pair sold at our auction of 16.5.2023 for $976]
1962 Commonwealth Games 5d Perth & Kangaroo Paws block of 6 (2x3) with the three right-hand units & the lower-left unit all affected by Grossly Misplaced Perfs caused by a Diagonal Paper-Fold and resulting in those four units also being Partly Impeforate, unmounted.
