THICK 'O.S.' OVERPRINT: 1876-85 Broad Star Perf 11½-12½ 6d bright blue SG O18 lower-left corner block of 36 (6x6) comprising the last row of the overprinting forme plus the complete overprinting forme of 30 (6x5), several different Damaged 'O's, '6d.' printed in the margin at the lower-left corner, horizontal crease across the second row, iron-spots affecting four units (and evident from the face) & light gum blemishes, some minor perf separation/reinforcing, large-part original gum with many units being unmounted, Cat £5760+, for mounted singles. A remarkable piece, being one of the largest surviving multiples with Type 1 'O.S.' Overprints. Ex Rodney Perry auction of 6.12.1979 and Dr Don Pearce. (Image1)

THIN 'O.S.' NARROW SPACING OVERPRINT: 1891-1902 Crown/SA Perf 11½-12½ 1/- red-brown from the worn plate with Double 'O.S.' SG O33a, lightly cancelled, Cat £1200. There are actually portions of three overprints. Ex Dr Don Pearce. Gary Diffen recorded only four examples: his stamp was sold for £240.

IMPERIAL PUNCTURES - 3mm Hole: 1854-55 Lithographs 4d pale blue SG 3 block of 4, margins just shaved to large with a fragment of the adjoining unit at lower-left, shallow thinning affects both upper units but doesn't detract from the very fine facial appearance, light 15-bar '6' cancels of Albany. Believed to be the largest recorded multiple of any imperf stamp with Imperial Punctures.

IMPERIAL PUNCTURES - 3mm Hole: 1874 'ONE PENNY' in Green on Perf 12½ 2d yellow with Triple Overprint SG 67b, well centred, light 15-bar '8' cancel of Fremantle, Cat £7500 without puncture. Ex Maurice Burrus, with the Robson Lowe lot-page. Lord Vestey's very fine example sold for £2640. [Submitted to the RPSofV for expertising] Mogens Juhl stated that the Triple Surcharges occurred on the first sheet printed. The sheet was probably in the nature of an essay or trial printing that was still pressed into service. Juhl states that the sheet was divided in half, one part being sent to Geraldton, from which only four examples are recorded. Gary Diffen states that 14 examples are recorded in private hands, of which three have the imperial puncture.

PUNCTURED 'WA': 1901-11 V/Crown £1 orange as ACSC W68B (SG 128a), CTO with concentric-circles cancel. This is the only punctured 'WA' stamp we can recall having seen with this CTO marking. The fact it is the highest denomination makes it a significant item. [The ACSC prices the 'OS' stamp at $2000 mint & $2500 used]

PUNCTURED 'WA': £1 orange as ACS W68B (SG 128a) but the Sperati Forgery #68c, excellent centring, very lightly cancelled, Cat $3000. RPSofV Certificate (2016) states "light toning on the reverse". The ACSC states "less than a dozen examples recorded". No comment is made about punctured examples but this may well be the only example of the forgery punctured 'WA'.

PUNCTURED 'WA': 1911 (May 12) OHMS cover with sarce franking of ½d pair tied by 'NORTHAM' cds with 'MECKERING' address handstamp (not previously seen by us), superb Meckering backstamp & redirected to the GPO, boxed 'UNCLAIMED' handstamp & DLO backstamp in magenta, discoloured flap. 'OS' punctures were introduced in 1905 & supplied from Melbourne. In 1911, the ½d stock was depleted & an emergency supply locally punctured 'WA' was prepared.

In 1905, 'OS' punctures, spplied from Melbourne, replaced the 'WA' issues. In 1911, the ½d stock was depleted & an emergency supply locally punctured 'WA' was prepared.
