Watermark Upright Perf 11 1d black & rose with Puncture Double as SG O4 (unlisted variety), CTO with 'PORT MORESBY' cds. One puncture is misplaced to the right with the 'S' almost completely 'blind', which suggests that the second puncture was a deliberate correction.
Watermark Upright (Inverted) Perf 11 2½d black & pale ultramarine horizontal pair the right-hand unit with Puncture Omitted creating an unlisted se-tenant pair of SG O6a & SG 51a (the unpunctured stamp), the left-hand unit CTO with 'PORT MORESBY' cds, the right-hand unit with a small part of the cds from the unit above and a couple of short perfs at base, no gum.

Croaker states that the right-hand column of two sheets were affected, resulting in twelve error stamps. However, three examples of stamps with the printer's guide-marks are now known to exist, proving that three different sheets - eighteen stamps - were affected. Peter Troy's such example sold in our auction of 28.7.2009 for $14,950. Examples similar to this one from the central rows have sold for $10,925 (Fred Pearson 2006) and for $9775 (Tim Rybak 2008).
