4, 4 var (78, 78a) 1915-16 6d ultramarine Kangaroo of Australia, Die I, wmkd Upright Wide Crown and Wide A (SG Type W 2), overprinted "N. W. PACIFIC ISLANDS." SG Type 6a-c in bottom row horizontal strip of six (pos 25-30) displaying transfer pair a-c (pos 25-26) and transfer pair b-c (pos 29-30 of the third setting), pos 30 with the major flaw "RETOUCHED "E" in "PENCE" and displaying forked "C" in "PACIFIC", only 16 examples of this flaw were overprinted, this horizontal strip of six is probably unique as the only larger multiple recorded is a complete overprinted form of 30, this is positions 55-60 from the Australia pane with remarkably nice perforations as margins from three sides of the strip which were removed before overprinting, a fresh bright unique strip of six, OG, HR SUPERB (Image)

SG Type 6c, position 30 from the third setting with major 'RETOUCHED "E" in "PENCE" FLAW' also displaying forked "C" in "PACIFIC", used MAR 16 with nice "Rabaul" cds, perfs are particularly nice for pos 30 (pos 60 of the Australia pane) as many were damaged when margins were removed before overprinting, only 16 examples of this major flaw were overprinted with 3-4 used, XF (Image)

SG Type 11), block of six (positions 33-35, 39-41 from Plate 2 right pane), pos 34 is VARIETY - substituted cliché Die I, pos 35 is VARIETY - substituted cliché Die II, pos 40 is VARIETY - thin "G" in "POSTAGE", pos 41 is VARIETY - dot on "Y" of "PENNY", a wonderful position block of six displaying four major 1d flaws, P.O. fresh and bright with no perf separations, OG, NH SUPERB (Image)
