New Guinea 1944 WWII OAS regd air cover to Tattersall's in Hobart, with Australian 6d Kookaburra canc fair "FIELD P.O. 0140" cds 14 JA 44 (further fine strike on back). Also on front: boxed unit regn h/s ("Four Mile" in m/s), AMF censor No. 354 & censor's signature. This cds used at Dobodura, New Guinea, March 1943-Jan 1944. Also b/s good complete "ARMY P.O. 0111" cds (used by No, 7 Base P.O., Port Moresby). Fine.

No. 0102"regn label & boxed AMF censor No. 1233 h/s (violet). Further fine strike of cds on back, with indistinct Base PO cds. FPO 0102 cds was used at Lae 20 May- 2 June 1944 only, then transferred to Wau. Rare usage.

B/s fine "FIELD P.O. 0102" cds 22 JE 44 & fair-good strike of similar "079(?) cds. FPO 0102 cds was used at Wau, June-Aug 1944. This date is 3 days earlier than Proud records. Very scarce cancel.
