ONE OF TWO KNOWN USED EXAMPLES OF THE G.R.I. 1914, 8D ON 80PF WITH SURCHARGE TRIPLED - ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL NEW GUINEA VARIETIES. Only fifiteen of these varieties were ever produced (ten from Gibbs setting 2 and five from Gibbs setting 10). This stamp is the only recorded used example from setting 2 and is position 3.
