New Britain, 1914, G.R.I. 8d on German New Guinea 80pf Black & Carmine on Rose, Surcharge Triple, "G.R.I." and value 5mm apart, tied on small piece by "Rabul, 20 NO 15" town cancel, wide margins, strong colors, Very Fine; with 2013 Gibbs certificate. SG No. 26g £10,000 ($14,240). Gibbs No. 26e. Scott No. 26c  $9,250. ONE OF TWO KNOWN USED EXAMPLES OF THE G.R.I. 1914, 8D ON 80PF WITH SURCHARGE TRIPLED - ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL NEW GUINEA VARIETIES. Only fifiteen of these varieties were ever produced (ten from Gibbs setting 2 and five from Gibbs setting 10). This stamp is the only recorded used example from setting 2 and is position 3.
