Washington' and addressed to Batavia, together with 10 st(uiver) VOC circular handstamp in black on folded letter-sheet addressed to Samarang. Scarce and early maritime mail in F/VF condition. 1847/1859, LANDMAIL, group of 3 folded letter-sheets, comprising a letter from AMSTERDAM, 21/9 (1847), to Samarang, on the frontside red transit cds PAYS-BAS / VAL.nes, 23.SEPT.47, blue 'P.P.' and boxed LANDMAIL/PORT in blue with manuscript taxation '160'; the second letter addressed to Batavia with COLOMBO/STEAMER LETTER, JY 1 1849 and GALLE/STEAMER LETTER, JY 26 1849 on reverse, along with boxed LANDMAIL/PORT in blue and m/s taxation '160' on the frontside; the third letter from UTRECHT, 14.(..).1852, to Batavia, on the frontside boxed LANDMAIL/PORT in red together with m/s taxation '120'. 1915 Red Cross postal stationery card 5(+5)c. used registered from Medan to Lucerne, re-directed to Hotel Terminus in Engelberg, uprated 10c. and cancelled "MEDAN/6.I.16" c.d.s., Reg. label and Luzern as well as Engelberg arrival datestamps, lightly stained due to Reg. labels glue otherwise fine.
