1852, 5c blue strip of five and single tied to 1862 (Jul 7) front sent to Paris, tied by the Franco rectangular postmark, the strip of five just touched on the right otherwise all stamps very fine, a rare franking making up the 30c rate and most attractive. (Image)

Netherlands Antilles. 1788-1790, Group of three entires all sent from St. Martin to Thomas Waite in Berwick, England, 1788 with ms "6" rate and "LANCASTER" entry hs (cover faults with small portions of contents missing), 1791 (Nov 26) entire with ms "7" rate, faint "LANCASTER" and "SHIP" hs, 1790 (Aug 1) entire from St. Martin to England, with ms "1/6" rate, endorsed on backflap "Care of Capt Wm Bradley, Lancaster", with "LANCASTER" hs on obverse, plus a 1790 return letter from Berwick to St. Martin referencing being carried by Capt. Bradley by the Rebecca, a rare group of mail from St. Martin. (Image)

Surinam. 1813 (Jun 26) Entire from Surinam sent care of a Lt. Col. in the 64th regiment in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a very fine strike of the "SURINAM" 9 JY 1816 fleuron ds from the British Occupation, very fine and very rare, earlier than the earliest recorded date of July 23rd 1813 by Riddell. Note: The 64th Regiment were heavily involved in seizing islands for the British in the West Indies during the Napoleonic Wars and captured Surinam in 1804, where they remained until moving to Halifax in 1813.
