1815 ANGLO-NEPALESE WAR (1814-16): Three page letter written & signed by Lt. Col. Chamberlain (24th Regt. South Wales Borders) from "CAMP BANJARE PAKIA" during the Anglo-Nepalese war, datelined Feb. 19, 1815, with interesting contents on troop movements and the resignation of General Marley. Written to major Doyle and delivered by hand. The address panel endorsed "Colonel Fagan with Major Doyle's compliments" (forwarded!?). (By this time, of the four British commanders, one was dead, General Marley deserted (letter's contents: "General Marley has quitted us"), and two others were essentially inactive at the hands of the Nepalese army.) A fine letter accompanied by typewritten explanation and contents. A VERY RARE AND IMPORTANT LETTER FROM THE ANGLO-NEPALESE WAR. (The Chamberlain correspondence was published in "The Invasion of Nepal" by John Pemble.)
