#PR98, 60c Pink, a handsome appearing mint example of this Bureau issue Newspaper stamp rarity, particularly well centered for this, lovely bright color, full original gum, light h.r., small tear at lower left, light creasing along the top perforations and a light vertical ink smear at top right, very fine appearance. The Philatelic Foundation has certified a total of twenty one copies of #PR98, seventeen unused and four used. This particular example is quite desirable, as its faults are quite minimal considering the numerous faults and/or repairs that plague nearly all of the few known Bureau issue newspaper stamps and it is better centered and fresher than most. The Scott catalog specifically notes that values are for stamps with "fine centering and small faults".An important rarity for the collector of Newspaper stamps or back-of-the-book issues.
