1846-48 Mexican-American War. Group of 6 comprising two "Belonging to the Army" free uses 1847 Saco Me. to Lt. Whitten of 9th U.S. Infantry in Vera Cruz, 1848 Houton Me. free to Lt. Brown of Co. C 1st Artillery at Saltillo, Mexico forwarded back to Buffalo with "Brazos St. Jago" cds and "10" rating as mail was not free from soldiers in Mexico; four letters from Army Surgeon C.M. Hitchcock in route to Mexico including aboard S.S. Gladiator, Wash. City, San Antonio and Tampico, F.-V.F. and interesting group with some content.
