#26 1866, San Luis Potosí 7c Grey lithographed, horizontal pair used along with, 13c Blue (#27) and 25c Buff (28), "58-1866" consignment, all boasting large margins and tied to October 17, 1866 folded letter to Celaya by "Franco/S. Luis Potosi" c.d.s. (Schatzkes 1455), being a most remarkable and unique three-color franking, in outstandingly fine state of preservation; accompanied by clear 1998 Jaretzky certificate stating this item to be genuine in all respects and 2016 MEPSI certificate stating that only the "58" invoice on the 25c. has been added fraudulently, but the stamps including the significant 7c. pair, cover and cancels are all genuine. The Pancho Villa Expedition, 1916, Sept. 4 patriotic illustrated envelope to Alexandria, entered the mails at Brownsville, Texas, with U.S. 1c Green (#462) pair (defective at base), sent by a member of the 'G' Company, 1st Virginia Infantry regiment, with 'Army and Navy Department' YMCA pre-printed endorsement on reverse; a scarce mail from the U.S. Army Punitive Expedition during the Pancho Villa Campaign which ended the U.S.-Mexico Border dispute. Mexico used and predominantly mint accumulation, of a few thousands housed in 14 small and large albums as well as loose pages filling a large box, mainly containing small album pages with retail prices or stockpages with numerous duplicates, 19th-20th century issues, being a bit stronger in the latter, including classics partly representing most of the issues, in this section with valuable high denominations mint and used including duplication, better semi-modern sets and values including popular examples such as 1915-16 1P inverted center, "Villa" and "Corbata" overprints on mint examples, airmails, Civil War issues, official stamps with scarce high denominations, locals with few better examples of Guadalajara, Yucatán, also some multiples, some occasional faults, however fine to very fine for the greatest part; catalogue value exceed $50,000.00; an interesting collection and well worth accurately examining.
