Malaysia: Straits Settlements/Sarawak Combination Covers: 1894 (Nov. 12) cover addressed to the Manager of Perkins, Bacon & Co. in London bearing 1883-91 8c. tied by "SINGAPORE/NO 12/94" and Sarawak 1888-97 Sir Charles Brooke 2c. with less distinct Sarawak Nov. 1894 c.d.s. A scarce cover to an interesting addressee. Until Sarawak joined the U.P.U. in July 1897, letters for destinations beyond Singapore had to be franked with Straits Settlement stamps, which could be obtained at Sarawak post offices.
