1854-1864 Four Indian stamps used in PENANG, with lithographed 1a. pale red and 8a. carmine on bluish glazed paper both cancelled by octagonal numeral "B/147" and two singles of 1856-64 8a. carmine cancelled by part of Penang-"147" duplex datestamp. The 1a. stamp slightly cut at left, the 8a. on bluish paper with a few short perfs at top and one of the later 8a. stamps with a corner defekt at top left, but still a good/fine quartet. (SG from £840)

1858 Cover from PENANG to Alexandria, Egypt franked by India 2a. orange horizontal strip of four, tied by octagonal numeral "B/147", two strikes of red "PENANG/9/OCT/1858/P O" double-circle datestamp (Proud D3) on front, Alexandria '4 Nov 1858' arrival cds on the reverse, and with a note and date 'Penang 8 Oct' inside. The left hand adhesive with shortened perfs at left (by scissors) otherwise fine. A SCARCE AND MOST ATTRACTIVE FRANKING (paying the 8a.=1s. British ship rate), and A SCARCE COVER FROM PENANG TO EGYPT.
