Madagascar, 1891 5Fr Violet and black on lilac, large margins all around, strong color on fresh paper, cancelled by neat centrally struck "Tomatave, 24 Mar 92" cds, Very Fine and choice, an attractive and completely sound used example of this scarce high value, ex-Gibraltar, Gross; signed A. Brun and accompanied by 2000 Behr certificate. Scott Nos. 13  $1,275. Most used examples of this stamp are thinned or otherwise faulty due the the softness of the paper, so to find a sound used copy such as this is rare indeed.
