"MILDENHALL" 8 May 1840 c.d.s. on flap which displays perfectly. Some minor wear faults but clean and attractive. SG ME2 £2,200. Ex Slemons and illustrated in "May Dates" by Jackson. (Image)

1d MULREADY ENVELOPE USED ON SECOND DAY OF ISSUE TO ORKNEY: Stereo A150 (forme 2) used from London to Kirkwall, Orkney with a superb red Maltese Cross and m/s "May Seven 1840", on reverse is a lightly struck 7th May 1840 London c.d.s. overstruck with a v. fine "MAY/9/1840" red c.d.s. of Edinburgh.
