15 USA WWI SOLDIERS LETTERS 1918, a mounted collection with interesting enclosures dated from JUN,1918 to DEC,1918, most are self censored letters from officers with great stories including capturing German Officers at a St-Mihiel dance, also German atrocities noting soldiers chained to their machine guns to prevent retreat, one from a soldier that predicted his own death ++, 10 letters are transcribed and 13 letters have the original covers, scarce items retailing over $300, F-VF est ($75+ US) (Image)

115 USA WWI PATRIOTIC LABELS 1918, the lot includes the NOV,1918 and DEC,1918 issues of the "Ladies Home Journal" that each contained a different page of War Theme labels, intended as patriotic troop support but very few were used since the war ended on NOV11,1918, a full sheet of 45 labels is intact in the NOV issue and the sheet from the DEC issue was removed for display, the lot includes 24 single labels plus a rare NOV27,1918 soldiers letter with a label attached, a total of 114 different labels retailing over $400, VF est ($75+ US) (Image)
