Collection and Stock of BNA Provinces, starts with a collection on Minkus pages with such items such as NB #1 (with lovely #1 grid cancel), NB #2 (with very rare #21 grid cancel), BC #11 (fine), NS #s 1, 3 and 4 (each fine), etc. The stockbook contains a variety of material, with some better such as NB #1, BC #11, NS #3 (x3), many mint and used Newfoundland sets and part sets, a Newfoundland registered cover franked with the complete set of Royal Family issue of 1911, and more. Valuable Group of Mint and Used Stamps on Auction Cards, housed in 1 small three ring binder. There are 60 auction cards from local stamp club auctions as well as larger auction houses. We counted about $6,000 in catalogue value for this lot, which includes mostly Newfoundland, but also a few others. A cursory look lead us to believe that the majority of the mint stamps are hinged. The Pence issues all have faults to varying degrees, ranging from a small tear to rebacked, still a decent group. Box of Various Mint Canada, with a little of everything, including singles, blocks, lots of plate blocks (mostly sorted in glassines), sheets (saw at least two 1970 Christmas sheets with centre blocks), etc. Saw a rare (first we've seen) 1979 Rio UPU Congress presentation book with $32 face inside. We only counted face values above 10c and these are sorted by denomination in envelopes (for example, we counted 109x 50c, 43x $1 and 22x $2). We noted a large variety of items such as sheets, souvenir sheets, booklets and plate blocks in sealed post office packages. We did not count values under 10c and the total face value for denominations between 10c and 32c is only $442. Most of the counted value is in the 34c and over range. We noted many higher values such as 65c (x59), 88c (x114), 90c (x189), 95c (x130), $1,20 (x87), $1.25 (x79), $2 (x146), $5 (x21) etc. A very useful lot, with lots of high denominations, which includes a spreadsheet of all the values counted (also scanned and available online). These stamps were all purchased through the CPC new issue service, and might include some varieties (we did note a matched set of plate blocks of #1176a), so careful inspection might be rewarding.
