III. 38" cds's, with purple "Correspondence Avion, retardee st deterioree, par suite de l'accident aerien, survenu le 23 Mars 1938" crash cachet handstamp; showing signs of wear from crash, Very Fine, a very rare crash cover originating in Liberia. Scott No. 276+273  Estimate $200 - 300. On March 23, 1938, the Air France mail plane struck a mountain peak of Cinq Croix in the Pyrenees turned over and rolled into a ravine.
