1d green Plate 1 with Saddle on Emu [Pos I/36] ACSC 80(1)e, quite well-centred, light machine cancel largely clear of the variety, a couple of very minor aging marks on a few perf tips, Cat $2000. Scarce: the flaw was retouched quite early in this printing after an apparently unsuccessful repair attempt. [See next Lot]
1d green Plate 1 with Saddle on Emu (Partially Repaired) [Pos I/36] as ACSC 80(1)e but an unlisted state, being the lower-right unit in a block of 18 (6x3), minor gum aging on a few units & in the margins not affecting the variety, unmounted, Cat $3800+ for the 'normal' variety mounted plus 17 unmounted singles. Apparently an unsuccessful repair attempt; the flaw was subsequently retouched quite early in this printing.
1d green vertical pair from the left of the sheet with Wattle Line and Neck Flaw ACSC 80(4)f & h, exceptional centring, the upper unit very lightly mounted, the lower unit unmounted, Cat $360+, for a mounted pair. Superb. Ex Jeff Clancy.
1½d red Plate 4 large-part sheet missing only the two right-hand columns of the right pane, includes Type B Re-Entry ACSC 91(4)fa Pos [4L47], Notch Inside Right Frame ACSC 91(4)j Pos [4L60] & 'ST' of 'POSTAGE' Retouched ACSC 91(4)nb Pos [4R55] plus Ash Imprint block of 4 ACSC 91(4)zd (partially trimmed off), a little minor perf separation & light overall aging mostly at the base, unmounted except for two units with small hinge remainders, Cat $4000+ for the imprint, listed varieties & two units mounted plus 92 unmounted singles.
1/4d deep turquoise ACSC 129C (SG 93 shade), lightly mounted, Cat $3500. Ex 'Anglo-Saxon' - sold at our auction of 16.8.2008 for $3030 - and 'Dubois' (I): sold for SFr1035. RPSofV Certificate (1999).
1/4d deep turquoise ACSC 129C (SG 93 shade) horizontal pair, 'MOSMAN/----27/NSW' cds, Cat $6000+. Likely to be the only recorded used multiple. Scott Starling Certificate (2024).
