French Offices in Japan, 1876 (Sept. 14), folded lettersheet sent from Yokohama, Japan, to France, outer sheet only, franked by US 10¢ Bank Note (Scott #161), tied both by cork cancel in black and by adjacent red Yokohama dater in red (just tying several perforation tips); addressed to Lyon (addressee's name originally crossed out and then partly restored), with sender's "Dell'Oro & Co./Yokohama" blue bilingual handstamp at lower left; endorsed "pr O.H. Stp. Oceanic", with "5/cents." rate marking in red, plus indistinct 22 SEP and light San Francisco/Oct/2 daters on front, red New York/Oct/11, Marseille 22 Oct and Lyon 23 Oct transits and receiver on back; edgewear including a half-inch tear to bottom, Very Fine, a handsome cover, with 2014 P.F. certificate.
