Venetian "AQ" Postal Stationery Sheets, lot of sixteen sheets (the series of which were issued between 1608/1797) with most being full 8½x11 sized and having the various postmasters names, usual mixed condition with the typical damages and discoloration due to age and exposure to the elements, a Fine lot of the world's first pieces of postal stationery; the "AQ" sheets cost 4 soldi each and were the only way to communicate with the Venetian government and were issued to produce tax revenues to assist the city in recovering from frequent flooding of the lagoon (see online scans) (Image)
