1854-55 Lithographed 1a. dull red, Die II, used on REGISTERED cover from Bombay to Lahore in 1856, tied by diamond of 12 lines, which is known to be used in Bombay (Cooper Type 2), with trisected "BOMBAY/1856 March 27/Paid" datestamp in red and boxed "REGISTERED/LETTER No." h/s in black. The cover has been opened roughly at top right, but nevertheless an early registered cover bearing a fine and fresh 1a. red with even wide margins all round, and an interesting and scarce cancellation.

The early cover lightly creased and stained, the second one opened three sides for presentation and with minor faults, but still an attractive pair of scarce covers.
