1854-65 Stamps cancelled octagonal "B/172" of Singapore including 1854 ½a (2), 1a strip of three, 2a (8), 1855 8a (15), 1856-64 ½a, 1a (16), 2a (21, various colours), 4a black (22), 4a green (2), 8a (6), 1860 8p (11), 1865 4a (2), some pieces, pairs or strips, mixed quality with some faults. 1859 (Oct 15) Entire to Shanghai with 1855 4a cancelled octagonal "B/172", red boxed "INDIA PAID", backstamped at Singapore and Hong Kong, unobtrusive horizontal file fold, otherwise fine.

1860 (Oct 2) Entire to Bombay, docketed as from Hong Kong, franked 1856 4a black cancelled octagonal "B/172", boxed "INDIA PAID" and oval forwarding agents cachet of "BARTENBERG SCHMIDT & Co / SINGAPORE", Singapore and Bombay backstamps, light horizontal file fold. Also 1867 entire to Batavia with 2a orange cancelled "B/172" and tied by oval cachet of Hooglandt & Co, some damage to address panel caused by ink erosion to the manuscript "25" charge. (2).

1860 Entires from Manila to the same address in England, one franked 1856 1a pair + 4a black, the other franked 4a pair, all cancelled octagonal "B/172" with Singapore backstamps, horizontal file folds, otherwise fine. (2).

1864 (Oct 21) Entire letter to New York franked 8a carmine pair each cancelled octagonal "B/172", red London Paid (Nov 26) and "5 / N. YORK BR. PKT" (Dec 15) datestamps with red "1/11", reverse with cachet of Boustead & Co. Two light vertical file folds (one through left stamp), still an attractive cover to the USA.
