1757-1850 PRE-STAMP/STAMPLESS MISCELLANY: Group of E/ELs & envs. (+ 1 front) containing a good selection of mileages plus a few UDCs, straight line cancels, etc. Inc. 17 Oct. 1826 EL to Dublin ex Galway, with v. fine boxed "[Crown] FREE/ 7 OC 7/1826" hs and v. fine "GALWAY/104" mileage mark, both in red on front, and blurred black "8. O'CLOCK/ 7 OC 7/1826 MK" oval hs on reverse; 6 Oct. 1837 EL to Sligo ex Hillsborough with faint but clear red "[Crown]/FREE/6 OC 6/1837/L" cds on front, and v. fine blue "HILLSBORO'" cds on reverse; and 6 Oct. 1840 env. to Downpatrick, with good strikes of Cavan, Down, Drogheda, Killeshandra and Newry double-ring cds's in black or blue on reverse, plus others. PRESTAMP "PAID" MARKS: Small group of ELs used from 1786-1849 inc. 1786 EL to Edinburgh ex Belfast with rare tiny Belfast "P. PAID" hs in red and "BELFAST" s/l h.s. on front both faint but fine, and fine "IRELAND" s/l h.s. on reverse; 18 June 1832 EL to Dublin ex Monasterevin rated ms "5" in dark red, with v. fine claret "PAID" hs and v. fine light red boxed "PAID/ JU 18/1832" hs on front, and fine "MREVEN/30" hs on reverse; 9 July 1831 EL to Belfast ex Castlehamilton, rated "1/4" ms, with "PAID" hs and "[BEL]TU[RBET]/[??]" mileage mark on front; and 7 June 1833 EL to Somerset ex Cork, rated ms "1/6", with fine boxed "PAID/AT/CORK" hs, fine boxed "PAID/JU 9/1833" hs and fair "MID/DAY/MAIL" circular hs all in red on front, and Cork double-ring cds on reverse; plus others. Inc. 7 Feb. 1821 EL to Cork endorsed "Money Letter", rated "2/5", with fine red "PALLASKENRY/105" mileage mark on front; 28 Mar. 1828 EL to Dublin with v. fine red "KILKENNY/57" mileage mark on front and boxed circle "B/28 MR 28/1828" hs in red on reverse; and 20 Dec. 1823 EL to Dublin endorsed "Single Sheet" ms, with fine blue "STEWARDSTOWN/82" mileage mark on front; plus other examples inc.
