Helgoland, Collection, 1867-79, comprehensive collection mounted on black quadrille pages in two albums, with collection detailing not only the various printings of the genuine issues but also includes the Berlin, Leipzig and Hamburg reprints which are identified by the various printings; starting with 1867-68 issues with 5 examples each of ½sch Sc. #1 and #1A (including one used #1A, cat $1,700), later issues in similar fashion with multiple */o followed by the various reprints, including 1sch mint sheet margin blocks of 4 and 9, 1869-71 in similar fashion with issues separated by printing., 1873 issues starting with ¼sch pale rose & pale green including two used (Sc. 7, cat $2,250 each, one with Lemberger cert.), 1875 issues with virtually all printings represented including multiple mint and used including some multiples, also a 50pf Official Reprint with cert. (only 50 examples available to the public), 1876-88 issues including 3pf with */o 1st and 2nd printing (Sc. 20-20a, cat $1,600 & $1,000 respectively for used), 20pf issue with rare proof (about 40 printed) and representation of all 8 printings including much used and full sheets from the 7th and 8th printings, also an 1890 Official Reprint issue with cert. (200 printed of which 120 are in the Berlin Postal Museum), multiple examples of first issues (Sc. 22-23) and mint examples of the rare later 11½ perf issue (Sc. 24-25, cat $1,700 each), followed by 5 post card and one on cover usage, various postal card usages and specialized section of unusual reprint material including inverted centered and imperfs, a forgery section and 9 full reprint sheets; condition varied as to be expected, a wonderful collection and a must see to truly appreciate.
