Japanese New Year Greeting 1898 printed message on reverse of 1¢ red on buff showing black and red crossed Japanese Flags, from Unosuke Kobayashi, a Japanese businessman from Jigozen mura in Hiroshima prefecture, he established the Kobayashi Hotel on Beretania Street after his first hotel burned down in the Chinatown fire, card sent to Kohala with "Honolulu, H.I., Jan 4, 1898" duplex postmark canceling and neatly written message on front, Extremely Fine, an extremely rare printed message with only two other examples of this card being recorded.
