1872 folded letter from Taganrog, Russia, to the island of Ydra, Greece, sent without stamps and charged "45" in blue and franked with 1871-76 Large Hermes Heads 40l and 5l meshed paper issue (mixed margins) on arrival and tied by Ydra 10 JAN 72 cds, despatch cds partially underneath 40l, vert. filing fold affecting 5l and tear across address panel, scarce. 1874 (Nov 7) wrapper from Rethimno to Syros with blue "RETTIME" despatch and "FRANCO" hs, franked on arrival with 40l olive-brown on blue (very close to large margins), tied by dotted lozenge, arrival bs, cover faults not affecting the stamp or postmarks and still an attractive cover.
