1858 (Dec 3): Entire letter from Cadiz to Manila, Philippines, mailed from Gibraltar with Great Britain 1856/57 4 d. deep rose, 6 d. lilac and 1 s. green all tied by bold strikes of the "G" in bars obliterator in black. 'Gibraltar' single circle cds in blue at left (Dec 6) and reverse with HONG-KONG double arc cds of transit in black (Jan 27, 1859) and Manila arrival in watery blue ink (Feb 1). 1857 (Sept 10): Great Britain 1857 1 d. rose-red, perf. 14, a used horizontal pair on 1857 entire letter from Gibraltar to Genova endorsed 'Tiber', tied by two strikes of the "G" in bars obliterator with double arc GIBRALTAR datestamp below (Sept 10). Red 'VIA / DI MARE / (E)' of arrival and originally charged '3' but deleted and changed to "15 cmi." in black. Genova arrival in red on reverse of a very rare entire - used in the first week of the "G" obliterator (the first recorded date of use is September 7) and the second earliest cover used in a British Colony with stamps directly supplied from Great Britain.
