German States Collection.
Sale No: 32
Lot No:3161

Cat No:Collection

German States, Collection. Estate collection of about 340 covers, well written up, housed in 4 thick Lighthouse albums, accompanied by cost inventory at the beginning of each album (volume 1 - Baden onwards €3060, volume 2 - Hanover onwards €3110, volume 3 - Prussia onwards €6720 and volume 4 - Thurn and Taxis onwards € 9,816; totaling €22,706 - approximately $33,000), some better covers and others which are, as to be expected, in less than average condition. However the collection is completely transparent, page for page, to see what was spent, with some of the better covers interestingly being the ones in better condition. Periodically through the collection there are good stamps, chronologically organized in keeping with the postal history, with the latter clearly being the highlights, nevertheless there are good four margined stamps here too; please inspect for full evaluation. Estimate  $2,000 - 3,000. $0
