In 2 volumes, all States represented, quality far above average for this area, many issues present both mint and used, high degree of completion save the rarest, with many varieties as well; value strongest in Bavaria and Wurttemburg as would be expected, followed by Hannover, North German Confederation and thereafter most States with value from €1,000 to €2,000+; some stampless and early classic covers; close examination recommended; owner's 2004 Michel catalog value €57,700. Estate collection of about 340 covers, well written up, housed in 4 thick Lighthouse albums, accompanied by cost inventory at the beginning of each album (volume 1 - Baden onwards €3060, volume 2 - Hanover onwards €3110, volume 3 - Prussia onwards €6720 and volume 4 - Thurn and Taxis onwards € 9,816; totaling €22,706 - approximately $33,000), some better covers and others which are, as to be expected, in less than average condition. However the collection is completely transparent, page for page, to see what was spent, with some of the better covers interestingly being the ones in better condition.
