KIAUTSCHOU: 1914 Postal Card with Vertical Dividing Line on the Face & Lozenges Watermark 4c carmine Michel P11 (H&G 11), to Tsingtau with very fine strike of the scarce 'LITSUN/KIAUTSCHOU/20.9/14' cds being the Last Day of Use (confirmed by Friedemann), unpriced used in both catalogues. Superb. Helmut Hammer Certificate (1980) states (translated) that it is only the second or third used example recorded; and with the 'LITSUN' cds is "unikat" (= unique). Sold at Gary Watson's auction of 19.8.1985 for $750. [Higgins & Gage states "#11 in used condition is extremely rare"]
