Norfolk Island 1-12, ½p-2sh Ball Bay Definitive Set on FDC, VF, complete set/12 on 6" x 9" envelope which has slight cr along T edge, w/typed addr & has cds pmk "NORFOLK ISLAND/10JUN1947/AUST.", registered (#401) & w/rubber stamp inscription "NORFLK ISLAND/First Day Cover/10th June 1947" (this is the mixed upper & lower case variety). Has (4) appropriate back stamps "REGISTERED/1AU47/BRISBANE"; dc "SAN FRANCISCO/AUG/16/1947/CALIF."; & (2) dc "ALBANY, N.Y./AUG/8/1947/REGISTERED." Flap never sealed, red pencil lines on front and back dividing envelope into roughly quarters, & envelope has very minor creasing & corner wear. Very interesting cover! (Image)
