1413/1850 (ca.), collection of apprx. 118 pre-philatelic covers, comprising especially a lovely selection of very early pieces, e.g. 1413 letter "John Duke of Bourgogne", letter 1 Oct 1525, letter 28 Oct 1619 (treaty), letter 27 Jan 1666 to M. Cassmyran of Sarranet, 1668 letter, 1690 (apprx.) Lady's letter etc.

1604/1690 (ca): 15 pages/1 frame exhibit "La Poste de l'ancienne France: l'antiquité faite trésor" (The Post of the former France - old treasures). 28 rare letters - of cause stampless - with post marks (mostly taxations) from the 17th century. A few letters with provenace "ex collection Jean Pothion". The letters are well described (in French), and put into the context of the relevant tarifs. It is possible to read this exhibit as an study on the post tarifs in France during the 17th century. A amazing collection. (Image)
