Collection of Mint and Used France and Colonies, 1849-1960s, with roughly 700 stamps in 60 Hanger stock pages. The collection begins with roughly 400 mint and used France, beginning with 33 used Cérès and Napoléon stamps including Scott #s 1, 3, 6, 12-13 ($125 total), along with 31 used Peace and Commerce stamps including the 5F high value ($70). The collection continues with used singles and sets up to the 1930s, along with mint material post 1930. A spot check indicated catalogue values $20 and up, including 109-132 (used, $175 total). The collection also includes roughly 300 primarily mint French Colonies stamps, ranging from the 1940s to 1960s. Better sets include Cambodia 1-17 (n.h., $81 total), Laos 25-26, C13 (m.h., $175 total), Tunisia C17-20 (x2, 1 m.h set, 1 n.h. set, $210 total), Sudan 79-94 (m.h., $64 total), along with mint sets from St. Pierre et Miquelon, Monaco, Martinique, and more. Accumulation of Mint and Mint Never Hinged France and Monaco, 1891-1980s, consisting of many thousands of stamps in two stockbooks and in manilla pages in three binders. The lot begins with two stockbooks and a binder, containing a few thousand of mint and mint never hinged France, generally ranging from Scott #138/1695, noting blocks, a few dated plate blocks, and a few souvenir sheets. A spot check indicates stamps cataloguing from $5 and under, with a few sets cataloguing $10 and up. The lot concludes with two binders containing a few thousand mint and mint never hinged Monaco, generally ranging from Scott #11/1679. A spot check indicates stamps cataloguing $5 and under, with a few stamps and sets cataloguing from $5 to $10. Duplication for the lot is up to 10 in many cases. Overall fine to very fine. France and Colonies Stock of Mint and Used Filling Five Red Boxes, all neatly sorted in roughly 4,000 dealer 102 cards with Scott numbers and with the majority of cards having retail prices shown (about 85% of the cards). The lot includes two red boxes of France, and three boxes of French Colonies, with material ranging from the 1870s to 2008, with the possibility of material being on either side of the range. Duplication generally ranges from 1 to 10, and we roughly estimate there to be 15% mint stamps and 85% used stamps. A spot check indicated the majority of stamps retail $3 and under, noting some stamps and a few sets retailing $10 and up. We note a few faults with the early material. Generally fine to very fine. Large Used and Mint Group of France & French Community from Classics to the 1990s, with collections and accumulations on older album pages, in stockbooks, on many Vario and other stock pages and in glassines / envelopes, etc. This is a large lot, basically filling a wine box and half-filling another. The proportion of Colonies / Community stamps to those of France is fairly high compared to the usual. There is also a fairly high proportion of mint never hinged stamps, including many blocks of four and part sheets. Some of the higher cataloguing items include France Scott # 1100 in miniature panes (x2, c.v. $140 total), Laos 99a (without the serial number, as mentioned in a footnote in Scott, $100), also included are many sets and singles in the $2 to $20 range of catalogue value. There are collections of Algeria, Chad, Ivory Coast, Syria and Upper Volta. There is a sizeable stock of mostly used France. In total, the group has many thousands of stamps in all, over 250 souvenir sheets & miniature panes as well as more than 30 booklets from France and has excellent variety. Some of the material is priced for sale, with many, many sets and singles in the $2 to $20 range of catalogue value. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

Specialized France and Colonies in a Thick Stockbook, including many France and French Colonies imperforate varieties, some with sheet margins, including Airmail and Semi-Postal issues, as well as plate proofs, die proofs and essays, mostly dating between the 1950s and 1980s. Many of the items have a Spink / Maury catalogue value, others usually have a retail asking price. A very fine and useful lot, either for the collector or dealer.
