Falkland Islands Dependencies: South Orkneys: Signy Island, Base H 1953 (Apr. 15) Army air letter form W.3077 written and signed by Gwillym Owen, Base Radio Operator to his sister in Swansea, correctly franked by Thin Map 6d. tied by H1v1 c.d.s. (two digit year entered in ms. as metal canceller slug was not available, the replacement canceller H2 arriving in Dec. 1953). The letter comments that this latest letter will arrive before the previous two as it would travel by air from Montevideo to England rather than by sea.
