Exceptionnel périple de 37 000 km. Cette lettre est partie le 4 aout 1849 de Rochefort, arrivée à Bordeaux le 5 aout, retourné à Rocherfort pour complément d’affranchissement, départ de Rochefort le 12 aout, transit Bordeaux le 15 septembre, envoyée par erreur à Maurice avec apposition du Crown Circle Mauritius GPO, cachet encadré GRAVESEND INDIA LETTER, transit Londres 15 avril 1850 et envoyée enfin au Cap de Bonne Espérance. 1F VERMILION, SECOND KNOWN COVER WITH RED CANCEL 1849 1F Vermilion tied by red 4th of January 1849 cds to cover from Paris Bureau Central to Seine & Marne, three large margins, touched at lower left corner. The 1F Vermilion was issued on January 1st; the first cover known is from January 2nd (Hackmey collection), the second known is this one. Only two covers known with red cancel on Vermilion Exhibition showpiece Expertise: Signed Champion and Baudot, cert. JF. Brun 1849 1F Vermillon oblitéré 4 janvier 1849 en rouge sur lettre de Paris Bureau Central pour la Seine et Marne, trois belles marges, touché en bas à gauche. Le 1F vermillon a été émis le 1er janvier 1849, la première lettre connue est du 2 janvier (collection Hackmey), la deuxième lettre connue est celle-là.
