1913 1d Carmine-Red BW #59ya tied to plain cover by neatly struck Sydney 'DE9-1913' machine cancel, Fred Hagen (stamp dealer) seal on flap, cover with some aging (well clear of stamp), typed Sydney address, Cat $8,500.
Dec 9 1913 was the Official First Day of Issue in NSW & Tasmania. Queensland, SA & Victoria was a day earlier on Dec 8 1913 although Brusden White and Stanley Gibbons both state the 9th December to be the official first day of issue. (Image1)
