POSTMAN'S GPO ARM BANDS, ETC.: Pair of GPO circular Arm bands c.1860(?) one with "POST OFFICE/GPO/POSTMAN" the other with "TELEGRAPH/GPO/MESSENGER" worked in brass wire mounted on red cloth with black cloth backing (some decay to straps & felt). Also a more modern small "GPO" canvas (letter?) bag marked "BARNSTAPLE" and "BISHOP'S NYMPTON", and marked under flap with boxed "GPO/[crown]/1952". Unusual and seldom seen. (3 items) (Image)

ARCADIAN CRESTED/HERALDIC PORCELAIN PILLAR BOX MODELS - GREAT BRITAIN: A remarkable collection of attractive items each decorated with the armorial crest of a town or city (England (74), Scotland (10), or Wales (7)), mostly on top, with rim and some details picked out in gilt and whimsical message "if you haven't time to post a line here's the pillar box" added on one side. Majority 5.3cm tall (85) bearing KGV cypher but a few 6.7cm tall (5) bearing KEVII cypher. Arcadian were the largest manufacturer of British crested china in the first half of the 20thC. Lot inc. examples of pillar boxes with clinging black cat (6). two with hairline cracks but rest in excellent condition. EXTREMELY FRAGILE SO COLLECTION RECOMMENDED. (91) (Image)

CARLTON CRESTED/HERALDIC PORCELAIN PILLAR BOX MODELS - GREAT BRITAIN: A remarkable collection of attractive items each decorated with the armorial crest of a town or city on top (England (53), Wales (3), Scotland (2), Edmonton (1), Austria (1), Arms of KEVII (1)) with rim and some details picked out in gilt and whimsical message "if you haven't time to post a line here's the pillar box" added on one side of most. All 7cm tall, majority (49) bearing KGV cypher, a few (5) bearing KEVII cypher and a few more (7) with crest and message only. Also model of doctor's bag with St Cross Hospital crest. MOSTLY WILLOW CRESTED/HERALDIC PORCELAIN PILLAR BOX MODELS - GREAT BRITAIN: A collection of attractive items each decorated with the armorial crest of a town or city on top with rim and some details picked out in gilt. One group (14), 8cm tall, with a whimsical message "if you haven't time to post a line here's the pillar box" added on one side and bearing KGV cypher. Second group 9.3cm tall (8) with no cypher but embossed GR with the shape of the letterbox door and information plate visible, and one other plain except for crest on top. Willow produced heraldic china in the first quarter of the 20thC. One item cracked but others in good condition. EXTREMELY FRAGILE SO COLLECTION RECOMMENDED. (23) (Image)
