JOSEPH PRESTON: cabinet card photograph by Tuttle & Co, Sydney signed in black ink JM Preston. An extremely rare signature. [Joseph Preston played 95 first-class matches for Yorkshire 1885-89. He took 211 wickets with his off spin at 17.83 with his best figures of 9 for 28 against the Marylebone Cricket Club, and scored 2131 runs. He toured Australia with Shaw & Shrewsbury's team in 1887-88 playing in 25 matches. He died prematurely at 26 after catching a chill] (Image1)
