A VERY RARE CANCEL ON DANISH STAMPS, this copy has THE ONLY IMPRESSION RECORDED ON FIRE R.B.S. by C.A. Møller. 1870, 11. November, single rate letter from the Zealand post handling bureau to Rome, prepaid 15 rbsk to destination by a 3 sk line perf. together with 4 and 8 sk. Very rare franking on a beautiful little envelope. The letter, carried in closed mail through Italy shows on the back the transit hand stamp of the TPO Wamdrup - Flensburg and the arrival of ROME 15. NOV. 70. The letter was still rated in accordance to the NGPU - Papal convention 15 rbsk corrosponded to 3,5 gr. : 1 gr. to Denmark, 2.5. gr. credited to the NGPU, 1.5 gr credited to Italy (previously Papal share) as indicated on the cover. Very nice item from the period immediate after the Italian take over of Rome. Cert. Kaiser, Postiljonen. (Image)
