An art museum and historical library in four stockbooks. A huge hoard of German Areas Notgeld, or emergency currency, issued by numerous cities, towns, and regions in the German Empire and the Weimar Republic, 1917-1920’s. About 1,500 individual items. Almost no duplication. The currency might have had only fleeting purchasing power, but the colors, design, printing methods, and subject matter lend each note enduring artistic and cultural value. Condition is excellent overall; few notes saw any actual use. Neatly organized. Awaiting a new owner who will give direction and focus to this assemblage of hundreds and hundreds of items. (Image)
