Collection of 22 Government Free Franked Covers, 1867-1902, mostly all written-up on pages, with a nice variety of postmarks from House of Commons and Senate. We note House of Commons crowned datestamp (Davis CP1) on a faulty cover, Davis CP3 (RF3) on two covers, various House of Commons or Ottawa FREE c.d.s. (including keyholes), most have member of Parliament signatures (described by owner), registered, an 1889 5c Small Queen transatlantic cover, an 1878 department handstamp (Davis #DCS2a, RF5, rare), Senate c.d.s., etc. A nice collection, with a few faults, still overall fine or better. Collection of 88 Queen Victoria Franked Covers or cards, mostly all neatly written-up on pages, with an excellent variety of different material. We note frankings of mostly Leafs and Numerals, but also Jubilee, with Registered (including four 8c single frankings), many illustrated, one franked with #72, one with #82 and other nice registration combinations, Special Delivery #E1 on 1900 cover, precanceled stamps, uprated post cards to destinations, second class mail, 5c Numeral on registered cover Bernardo Man to England, etc. We also note much postmark interest, with fancy, flags (1901 Exhibition x2), squared circles, such as a nice strike of 1899 Flesherton, duplexes, rollers, and more. Five covers have postage due stamps applied on arrival, including France, Italy, Switzerland and Holland (faults). 1914 Cover Recovered from the Wreck of R.M.S. Empress of Ireland, mailed from Britton Ontario (unclear date as stamp has fallen off during immersion) to Bristol, England. Has a light green "Recovered by divers from the wreck of Empress of Ireland" on front, plus two different DLO datestamps (green and purple) on back dated DEC.10.1914 and ?.21.1914. Nicely written up on page, with obvious faults including part of back missing. Ex. Liptak collection. (Image)
